Mid Lancs Week U

In my final report of the season, Division 1 kicked off with MGS A whitewashing bottom team Clayton A 18-0, with Becky Ashton being statistically the best player on the night to help the team move into 2nd place due to Andy’s A not playing.

Hawks A beat MGS B 11-7 as Jenny Mx won 5 games to be the best player on the evening.

David Lloyd as expected beat Clitheroe A 17-1, only Alison Leaver & Jess Portas stopping the complete whitewash.

Cross Feathers kept firmly in charge at the top with a 16-2 victory over Carlton A; Hayley Harrison was statistically the best.

The result makes Cross Feathers favourites to lift the shield for the very first time and who knows on the runners up????           Crusaders A are relegated and Clitheroe A are likely to join them in the drop into division 2.

Mid Lancs – Week T

Resumption of fixtures started in Division 1 this week when Carlton A hosted joint runners up, St Andrews A. The visitors didn’t mess about, they got off to a 2-6 flying start being 2-6 up after the levels and then only lost 2 more games in the match for a 4-14 win to keep in sole 2nd place on the tables. Ash Gibson & Karolyn Hustler won all their 6 games on the night.

Hawks A got thrashed 1-17 by leaders of the division Cross Feathers to keep a 6 point lead at the top; only Andy Owen & Chris Chu winning the 1 game to stop the total whitewash. Rach Graham was statistically the best player on the night.

Clayton Crusaders A suffered another loss this week at the hands of MGS B who virtually send them tumbling back into division 2 next season with a 3-15 win. Adrian Greenwood, Alex Mackie & Jenny Stothard won all their 6 in the 4 pt win.

In a crunch match at David Lloyds pad, the struggling Champs took on current joint place team, MGS A who were 3 points ahead of them prior to the match kicking off. At the end of the levels the score was tied at 4 & then Jared Matthew & Rebecca Ashton won the opening mixed set to take MGS into a 4-6 lead. Alan Clarkson & Joanna Holt won both games to 12 & 14 to even the score again. The 7th was split before Jared & Rebecca won a pair over Alan & Joanna to go 7-9 ahead going into the nail-biting final set which was split to give MGS a 8-10 victory & a clean sweep of wins over the Champs this year! In the 3 point win that drops MGS down to 3rd place, Rebecca was the LOTM on the night for winning all of her 6 games.
