Mid Lancs Week I

Report From Paul Eastham

This week in Division 1, MGS A faced the current leaders David Lloyd & they got absolutely trashed 1-17 by the reigning champs. Jared Matthew & Pete Fearns won the 1 game to stop the total whitewash & it was Joanna Holt who was stat best.

Chris Hoyle & Jenny Mullineaux from Hawks A won the final pair of games of the match 15-7 & 15-3 to help win the match 10-8 against Carlton A. The 3 pts helps Hawks move into 3rd spot, but it was Andrea Neville who took 5 games for Carlton.

MGS B fell 7-11 at home to St. Andrews A despite being all square at the end of the levels. The power of Andy’s mixed game took over and won 7 of the 10 mixed games on offer as Nicki McGrath went home with the LOTM award for her 6 games.

Mid Lancs Week G

Report From Paul Eastham

This week in Division 1, David Lloyd took Hawks B to the cleaners by beating them 17-1, only Andy Owen & Chris Chu stopping the total whitewash by winning the 1 men’s game. Joanna Holt was statistically the best player on the evening.

Finally!………… Clayton Crusaders A get their 1st division 1 point when they played at MGS B. At the end of the levels, things for Crusaders looked very promising as the match hung in the balance at 4 all & a split mixed opener made it 5 all, but then a flurry of games gave the hosts the points, but only 3 as another split set gave Clayton the bonus point. Andy Finch was once again the star on the evening, he took all of his 6 games to take home the MOTM award in the 12-6 win.

Mid Lancs Week G

Report by Paul Eastham

This week in Division 1, MGS A had a narrow victory at Carlton A when they won an 8 all classic. In that final set it was Josh Hull & Katie Dixon Turner who won both games 12-15 & 10-15 to win the match 8-10 for the visitors. Josh was also the MOTM on the evening for taking all of his 6 games & help keep the team on track in the chasing pack, staying in 3rd place.

Hawks A beat MGS B 12-6 to take the 3 points, but it was Andy Finch & Lynn Hosegood who took the final pair of games in set 9 to steal the bonus point for the visitors. However, the true star of the match on the evening was Jenny Mullineaux; she won all of her 6 games to take home the LOTM award & helped enormously in sealing the win. It’s worth mentioning that 2 of Hawks’ old timers were missing in this match, both being subbed by Andy Owen & Chis Chu as Chris Hoyle wasn’t allowed to play out on the night and Julian Priestley allegedly had broken a finger nail or something along those lines!!…  🙂
