In division 1 this week, no card from Carlton A as yet, but I believe the score was 12-6 when they played St. Andrews B. Hawks B were on the receiving end of a 3-15 defeat from visitors, David Lloyd A; Wendy Higgin won all 6 to be LOTM. At the other end of the table, a potential runner’s up spot was being fought for between St. Andrews A & MGS A. After the levels the score stood at 3-5, but the home side shifted up a gear in the mixed to win 8 of the 10 mixed games to take the match 11-7. The best performer on the night was Liz Holt; she took 5 of her 6 games to help move the squad move into 2nd.
Happy New Year!

Comments and info from Paul Eastham:
In division 1 this week, David Lloyd A said ‘thank you very much’ to MGS A for 4 easy points as they conceded their match & are duly fined and a point deducted from their points tally which probably now cost them any chance of winning the title.
Meanwhile, Hawks A beat MGS B 14-4 to sit proudly on top of the tables over the Xmas break. In the max point win for the leaders, Faye Ormesher won 5 games to be the best player on the evening.
St. Andrews A beat Hawks B 16-2 to go joint 2nd on the tables & it was Oliver Morris & Liz Holt who were the best pair on the night; they both picked up all their 6 games at No1 pair. Continue reading “Mid Lancs Week K”
It is the start of the Cup competitions, and due to the round robin nature of the Cunningham Cup we have both the A and B teams in action in the preliminary week. Everyone else will have to wait on the draw for the first round proper to find out when they play. There were wins for the C Team last week, but the D and E both lost in close encounters.

Message from Jennifer Clough
Here are the new format Cunningham Cup round robin groups – for fixtures to be played during the preliminary cup round in w/c 2nd December (R1-1) and in the first and second cup weeks during January (R2-2) and February (R3-3).
The team drawn at position 1 in the group will be home team in round 1, the team in position 2 will be home team in round 2 and team in position 3 will be at home in round 3.
The 3 group winners and the best placed runner up will contest the semi finals. The positions will be decided by wins, then points difference and then total points scored.
