Message from Jennifer Clough:

Hello

I’m sorry for the delay – here is the full draw for the preliminary and first rounds of the cup competitions.

I have drawn the home teams for both the December and January rounds. The teams in bold letters, marked with * are the home teams. Under rule 40, the home teams will be drawn again for the second round after the first round is completed in January.

I hope the draws help with booking halls.

Kind regards

Jennifer

Phillips Cup : St Andrews E (-40) v Whittle B (-50) – 12th January 2012

Team : Stuart, Hannah B, Richard, Charlotte S, Graham, Lily.
Result: Lost by 38 points  149 – 187.
Stuart stepped in for Harry, and with Hannah managed to get high point scores in 3 of their games, including a win and a spectacular comeback in one. Graham and Lily also had 3 strong games with 2 wins. Richard and Charlotte contributed most points on the night with 6 strong games but it wasn’t enough (despite glucose supplies from Lily and the legendary Whittle tea & bickies) for the hosts to take a victory by 38 points. Well done to Charlotte for lasting until quarter to midnight and overall a great team performance against a seasoned division 5 side and all played in good spirits!

(Note: Next match against Evergreens on Thurs 19th Jan is postponed.)

St Andrews D vs Whittle C

Team : Josh, Hannah, Colin, Anne, Sam, Lucy

Result: Lost (-90GH) 165 – 174 (SCR)

Close but no cigar. Sam and Lucy easily won all their games on the night with a huge contribution of 64 points, but there were a lot of close games in the other sets which meant the 90 point handicap was just out of reach. The match was played in a great spirit and Whittle did well to hang in there and keep their noses in front. Grrrr. Crying face
