Team : Daz, Graham, Colin, Charlotte H, Helen R, Helen P
Result : 12-6
Very close to getting all 4 points with 4 of the sets split on the night. HP put on a great show winning all 6 games to scores of 4,1,3,4,5 and 1. Our other top scorer was Charlotte who won 5 games. Everyone else chipped in with wins, so it was an excellent all round team effort against second placed team in Division 5.

Good win on the night at an airless Wellfield. Daz and HP both picked up 5, but he who will remain nameless managed to pick up 6 for a change. So well done to him, and thanks to Daz, Graham and Helen for their help! Keep those 4 pointers coming…
Team : Daz, Graham, Colin, Jane, Jean, Helen
Result : 16-2 Win
Comprehensive win against weakened Evergreens side. Class told on the night with Jean Rimmer and Helen Pallett taking 6 each. Only the old men of the team and the up and coming youngsters playing at 1 dropped games. Our best winning margin of the season so far sneaks us up in to 4th place in D5. Great stuff!
I would like to add my congratulations to Monday’s night’s winning team and also the whole squad for the way you have all improved so much in half a season. From watching and playing at club nights and partnering several of you in 4th team matches I have been really impressed with your developing skills, enthusiasm, humour and, not least, your excellent on-court conduct.
This is the largest group of young players that I can remember playing at the same time for the club (and I have been around since Mark was a lad!) so it certainly bodes well for the future of St Andrews Badminton Club. The only worry I now have is that my place in the 4th team is becoming vulnerable, but I am up for the challenge!
We must also recognise Helen’s dedication and coaching skills which have given you the opportunity to play competitively and improve.
Well done to Jane for completing the Great North Run at the weekend. She finished in a very respectable 01:56:47.
