Comments and info from Paul Eastham:
Team : Sam, Colin, Josh, Lucy, Anne, Hannah P
Result : 15-3 Win D5
The balance of oldsters and youngsters is still working at the moment as we managed another convincing win. Best on the night was Hannah Pallett with her first maximum 6 for the D Team, so congratulations to her , I’m sure there will be more to come. Sam (sleepy cheeky monkey head), Josh, Lucy and Anne (most improved from last week) all managed 5 wins.
Rant: There must be a rule about serving slowly, it was driving me crazy, its not like it was even worth the wait!
Next up : Monday 31st of October 😈
Clayton Crusaders B @ Clayton 7:00pm start
Team: Richard, Graham, Harry, Charlotte S, Lily, Hannah B
Result Won 11-7
The Rubies bounced back after their defeat last week with the same team, to achieve a great win over another of the teams who are setting the pace in Div 6.
It was a very even game up to event 7 when St Andrews led 8-6. Graham and Lily just failed to clinch the match in event 8. Having taken the first game convincingly, they proceeded to throw away a good lead in the second.
So, at 9-7 it was left up to Richard and Charlotte to finish it off which they did in style although they had to fight back from behind in both games. I thought that
everyone was on top form in this match and took vital games. Congratulations to
Richard who took all his 6 games and a special mention for Lily who would also
have taken 6 if Mr H had not run out of steam.
Team : Dave, Colin, Josh, Lucy, Anne, Hannah P
Result: 15-3 Win
No game last week because of the postponement, so everyone was keen to get playing again and it showed. The score was 8-0 after the levels with Josh and Hannah holding their own playing at 3, and we got to 13-0 with 4 points in the bag before we dropped a game. Our top pair Dave and Lucy both picked up maximums to be best on the night. A really good performance all round.
Team: Charlotte S, Lily, Hannah B, Richard, Graham, Harry.
Result: Lost 6-12
Two weeks on from a resounding victory against the “D” team, the “ruby team” met the more experienced Whittle “C” at their place. After a first game win for Harry, the opposition then went into a commanding 6-2 lead after the levels. Richard and Charlotte fought to get all 4 of their games but copious consumption of chocolate biscuits, tea, crisps and a wide selection of sweets by “the rubies” couldn’t prevent Whittle getting into their stride towards the 12-6 victory. The home team took 6 of the last 8 games despite great efforts by Lily, Hannah and Graham to make them work for 4 close games.
