We received a letter from St Catherine’s to thank us for the money we raised at the Boxing Day 75th Anniversary do. The final total was £305, with half collected from the donation boxes and the other half from the profit we made on the night. Thanks again to everyone who came, it was a very good night.
Our smart new club tops have arrived. They arrived in time for some of the B Team and E Team to debut them in their matches on Thursday. Thanks to Rachael for sorting those out for us,
There are a few membership payments overdue, so if you have not paid please get your money in to team captains or Karolyn as soon as possible. Adults £50, Juniors £30.
Due to court availability the date for the Mid Lancs Doubles Tournament has been brought forward to Sunday the 10th of February, so entries need to be in by the end of January. I’m am sure Mark will be reasonable flexible given the change of date, but getting entries in by the end of next week would really help with the handicapping.

- Good luck to all those taking part in matches this week
- There is no home match on Monday so all courts are available for club night
- If anybody wants to post entries on the blog let me know and I’ll get you setup
Please can you ensure that if you are wanting to play on Boxing Day that you let Mark know this weekend and NOT on the day- because contrary to popular belief, partners are drawn out and handicaps are formulated prior to the day!! The earlier you let him know the better your handicap! Except for you Daz!!!
This year is the 75th year of the St Andrews Boxing Day tournament and to celebrate we have organised an event at Fox Lane Cricket club on the 29th of December at 7:00pm. We have invited as many past winners of the tournament as we can find to join all our current club members on what will be a great night. There will be a supper, some games, a bit of music and some reminiscences of Boxing Day tournaments over the past few decades. We are planning to cover costs through the games and raffles we run on the night, so all raffle prizes will be gratefully received. Hope to see everyone there for a lot of fun and banter.
The Boxing Day tournament itself is taking place on Wednesday the 26th. Expect the usual format of round robin games followed by a short knockout phase to determine the winners. If you are planning on taking part please get there for midday so we can get pairings, groups and fixtures organised ASAP. There will be the usual charge of a fiver (TBC), to cover bacon butties, prizes and hopefully a bit of fund raising. Normally the finish is around 5/6pm and we then go out for a meal and/or a few beers at a local pub. Enjoy the day.
Have a great Christmas and best wishes for the New Year.

The St Andrews Xmas meal is on Friday in the Eagle and Child at 6:30pm prompt. There are plenty of us going so it should be a good night, even if you have not booked the meal please come down later on for a drink, just don’t leave it too late if you want a coherent conversation.
Just in case you have not noticed, there is the usual form posted on the notice board in the hall , so if you are planning to enter the Boxing Day Tournament get your name down. This year the tournament will be on ……Boxing Day, Monday the 26th!!!!
